Doctor's Day Gifts

March 30, 1842, was the date that the first ether anesthesia was administered for surgery. Eudora Brown Almond worked to set aside a day to honor doctors in 1933. March 30th was the day set for this. The House adopted a resolution in 1958, and both the House and Senate, with the approval of the president, established the day to be National Doctors Day in 1990. National Doctors' Day is always March 30.
